I thought l would start a new blog for this new chapter in my life.
I have gone from a stay at home my with three children, to a stay at home mum who was studying with three children. To right this minute being a working mum (with a Bachelor Degree) with three children in school.
I have had great success in my working career being able to achieve a bachelor degree whilst staying at home with my children. I have not had the same success with my weight, reaching 68 kilos after baby number three while studying. Right this minute l am back up to 90 kilos.
I decided to start this blog to keep me on track in all aspects of my life. Trying to find time to look after my health, my family and my career can be tough.
So l have started doing a few things to get me back on track.
For starters l wear a jaw bone up, this allows me to see how many steps l am doing each day and keeps me motivated to move a bit more.
Next l am using my fitness pal again to keep track of what l am eating
Third l am doing slow cooker meals which means when l get home from work dinner is already done.
Today's Slow cooker meal is
2 Chicken breasts
1/2 a jar of Moroccan marinade
1 cup of water
That is it. When l get home l will make the pearl couscous dish which takes 10 mins total. All it is is chopped up red onion, sauteed in a table spoon of olive oil, then add in one red capsicum thinly sliced, 1 broccoli stem chopped into match stick size, toss these until cooked. I then add in the pearl couscous toss it around and add in the recommend amount of chicken stock (look at the packet of couscous to see how much liquid you need to put in). I then serve up the children serve and then leave mine and hubbies last and quickly toss through some cayenne pepper. This is all served with a green salad.
Now to make my commitment to my health. I recently tore my ligaments in my knee. Being over weight is not helping my body. I also really miss being fit. I use to run a boot camp and go to the gym every day. I just don't know how to fit this all in now with my life. I have started walking the boys to school but it is winter here and today l really didn't want to risk getting stuck in the rain on the way home. I guess it is time to reevaluate my life and work out what l am doing during the day to see when l could be at the gym rather than on the couch.
